Rondo’s case study on ‘Sealing Unsustainable Gaps’, which contributed to the environmental acknowledgement award Rondo received late last year – has been published on the NSW Government’s Environment, Climate Change and Water website and details Rondo’s initiative to close unsustainable gaps in our current operating procedures.
Some achievements include the reduction of electricity through improved power correction. The reduction of LPG consumption, replacing electric water heaters with solar gas heaters, recycling paper and metal and reducing town water consumption by harvesting rain water tanks.
The case study acknowledges Rondo’s commitment to the environment and as a leader in sustainability.
It details the outcomes of the initiative and the steps Rondo hopes to implement in the future with the support of Sustainability Advantage Industrial Ecology networks. Rondo’s next focus is to reconsider its use of packaging by substituting timber packaging with recycled rubber, steel and plastic substitutes.
