The new Royal Children’s Hospital will have a family focus that will include improved accommodation and facilities for parents, and have the capacity to treat an additional 35,000 patients every year.
The new RCH aims to be Australia’s first 5 Star Green Star hospital and has adopted environmentally friendly initiatives that involve reducing greenhouse gases by 45% through measures such as energy efficient lighting, cooling and heating, the inclusion of gas-fired cogeneration plant and solar panels.
Rondo has the responsibility to provide ongoing support through a large range of design work and weekly site inspections, acting as an extension to Expoconti and future contractors on site. Rondo’s Technical Department has provided much needed assistance working out problems with some of the specified walls, by spending a large amount of time with the contractor and builder to find a solution together.
The main products supplied by Rondo for the project will include our KEY-LOCK® and DUO® ceiling systems, and metal studs.
Rondo would like to say thanks and make a special mention to Bovis Lend Lease, Expoconti and the Rondo Technical Department for all their support and good work.
