Chinatown stage 1 incorporates a colourful, six-level office building and a similar sized car park beside it. The complex is located on the original Chinatown site in Smith Street, Central Darwin.

The building became the new home for the NT Police Department who occupy 3 levels and the remaining levels are taken up by the National Australia Bank and their business banking centre.

This project incorporates approximately 6,000 square metres of Rondo DUO® Exposed grid (600 x 600), as well as enormous volumes of 76mm stud and track.

All the internal fit out and ceiling work was undertaken by Stark Investments, who are one of the largest contracting companies in Darwin. Stark Investments are still completing the interior and are working on completing each level of this building to suit the new tenant’s requirements. David from Stark explained that using Rondo products has made this project and any other they have done, extremely easy due to the quality and ease of their application.
