Christchurch has an estimated forty billion dollar price tag on the rebuild of its city, with activity predominately in the residential and health sectors starting to gain momentum towards the end of 2014. Rondo customers will be heavily involved in the rebuild, and therefore Rondo has opened a second manufacturing facility in Christchurch to be able to deliver our products to customers faster and provide onsite technical support.
With insurance companies still very nervous about seismic activity in the region there was very limited supply in finding a 100% compliant rating building to the New Building Standard. However, Rondo was successful in securing a 4000m² compliant property located approximately 10km from the city centre and within a short drive from all the major arterial routes around the city.
Rondo's Christchurch operation has a similar set up to our manufacturing facility in Auckland, with two machines producing products specifically to support customers in the South Island, New Zealand market.
Machines arrived at our Christchurch facility in July, and the site has been up and running from the 1st September 2014. Rondo’s Christchurch site is staffed by machine operators / store personal, as well as a Business Development Manager for the South Island who will be readily on hand to service the region and provide technical assistance. All clerical and administration services will continue to be managed at our Auckland office.
Not only has Rondo opened a manufacturing facility to offer additional support to our South Island customers, but in response to projects having seismic requirements there and elsewhere, Rondo has developed superior seismic wall and ceiling systems which can be tailored specifically to suit each project.
Rondo’s market-leading seismic designs have been developed through the use of Australian and New Zealand Standards, comprehensive in-house and third party testing, and extensive research into the latest seismic developments.
Both the opening of Rondo Christchurch and the launch of our Seismic Systems have taken place during our 50th Anniversary, which is testament to our continued focus for offering industry leading systems solutions which are complimented by outstanding customer service.
